BGC joins the entire Metro Manila community in preparing for “The Big One”, helping to increase disaster preparedness among workers and residents within the neighborhood.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) conducted the first-ever Metrowide Earthquake Drill today, July 30, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
The use of social media during the drill has been encouraged by authorities, designating the hashtag #MMShakeDrill for citizens to share information, preparation tips, and their experiences throughout the exercise.
The MMDA has designated 4 quadrants for the earthquake drill, with each quadrant of adjacent cities focusing on a different emergency scenario, while having its own designated command or evacuation center.
Taguig City is part of the SOUTHERN QUADRANT, along with Pasay, Makati, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa and Pateros.
Emergency Scenario: Debris cleaning
Designated evacuation/command center: Villamor Air Base Golf Course
